FOCUS: Engineering microbes to produce novel secondary metabolites
I am an experienced molecular biologist working to create new bioactive compounds using microbes and synthetic biology. This involves expressing gene clusters in microbial hosts and developing efficient, high-throughput strategies for engineering them to produce new bioactive compounds. The ongoing goals of my work are to increase the throughput of engineering methods, implement innovative bioactivity screens and set up heterologous expression systems of new secondary metabolites.
